Orders & Booking Problems
Fixes for booking page failures, orders you can't edit, and address issues.
Problems with the public booking page or with editing Orders? Find your symptom below.
Clients can't book
My client says the booking page shows "page not found"
The public booking page only loads when online booking is turned on. If it's off — or the link has the wrong web address — visitors get a "not found" page.
- Go to Scheduling.
- Turn on the Enable online booking toggle. You should see the message "Online booking enabled".
- Check the URL Slug — the link you share must match it (capitalization doesn't matter).
- Use View Live Booking Page to confirm the page loads, then re-share that link.
See Public Booking Page.
A client's address shows "Outside service area"
Your service area check compared the client's address against your coverage and it didn't fit inside any of your zones. There are two levels:
- Warning — the client sees "This address may be outside the standard service area." in amber, but can still book.
- Blocked — the client sees "Outside service area" in red and the Next button stays disabled. This happens when you've set the service area to block out-of-area requests.
To fix it:
- Go to SchedulingService Area.
- Check the address really is out of range — the widget shows the distance and your maximum (e.g. "Distance: 42 miles (max: 30 miles)").
- To take the job anyway, either extend your coverage (add a larger radius tier or more zones), or switch off blocking so out-of-area addresses only get a warning.
- Or create the Order yourself from Orders — the dashboard doesn't block you, only the public page.
See Service Area.
The check fails open
If the address can't be checked (for example, it can't be located on the map), the booking is allowed through rather than blocked. You may occasionally get a booking from outside your area — review new requests before approving.
A client's discount code won't work
The code is checked against your coupon setup at the moment the client applies it. The message tells you why it was rejected:
| Message the client sees | Why |
|---|---|
| "Invalid discount code" | No coupon with that code exists (codes are not case-sensitive) |
| "This code is no longer active" | The coupon is switched off |
| "This code has expired" | The coupon's expiry date has passed |
| "This code has reached its usage limit" | The total number of uses is used up |
| "You have already used this code" | This client's email already redeemed it the maximum number of times |
| "Minimum order amount not met" | The booking total is below the coupon's minimum |
To fix it:
- Go to SchedulingCoupons and open the coupon.
- Check it's active, not expired, and has uses left — adjust the limits or expiry if you want it to keep working.
- Have the client re-enter the code.
See Coupons.
Clients see "No available time slots for this date."
The booking page only offers times that pass all your scheduling rules. A date shows no slots when any of these apply:
- You have no working hours set up for that day of the week.
- The date is too soon — the Inspection Type has a minimum lead time before the first bookable slot.
- Every slot that day already has the maximum number of bookings you allow per slot.
- You (or your team) blocked that day off as time away.
- With team scheduling on, no team member qualified for that Inspection Type is free that day.
To fix it:
- Go to SchedulingAvailability and check your working hours and time-off blocks for that date.
- Check the lead time on the Inspection Type the client picked.
- If you use team scheduling, check which members are qualified for that Inspection Type.
See Availability and Service Categories.
Orders you can't edit
I can open an order but can't change anything
Your team role decides what you can edit. The Inspector role can view Orders, the calendar, and contacts — but not change them. Edit buttons are hidden or disabled.
- Ask your team owner, an Admin, or a Manager to make the change for you.
- If your duties include editing Orders, ask them to change your role (Scheduler and above can edit Orders).
See the full permission matrix in Team Roles.
Everything is read-only and a banner says "Viewing all teams"
The All Teams view combines every team you belong to into one read-only list. Nothing can be created, edited, or deleted from it — you'll see the banner "Viewing all teams — switch to a specific team to make changes."
- Open the team switcher (top of the sidebar).
- Pick the specific team the Order belongs to.
- Edit as normal.
An archived order won't move forward
Archived is a legacy status — archiving has been removed, but Orders archived in the past keep it. The only way out of it is to reopen the Order, which puts it back at New.
- Open the archived Order.
- In the status menu, choose Reopen.
- The Order returns to New and can move through its statuses again.
See Order Statuses.
Address problems
Address suggestions don't appear when my client types
The address field on the booking page suggests addresses as the visitor types. If nothing appears:
- Check the field isn't still loading — it shows "Loading..." and stays disabled until the map service is ready. A slow connection or an ad blocker can hold this up; reloading the page usually fixes it.
- Check autocomplete is turned on: go to Scheduling and look for the Enable address autocomplete toggle. When it's off, the field is a plain text box.
- Suggestions only cover your account's country (set by your region). Addresses in other countries won't be suggested — the client can still type the full address manually.
See Public Booking Page.
Property details didn't fill in automatically
After the client enters an address, the booking page looks up public property records ("Looking up public property records…") and pre-fills square footage, property type, and year built when it finds a match ("Property record found").
This lookup never blocks a booking — if the record can't be found, nothing appears and the client simply fills the fields in themselves. Also note:
- It only fills fields that are still empty — anything the client already typed is left alone.
- Not every address has a public record. Rural, new-build, and recently subdivided properties often don't.
- Record data can be out of date — that's why the page shows "From public records — please verify".
No fix is needed: have the client (or you, when creating the Order in the dashboard) enter the details manually.
